TrueNorth · NORTH

A Canadian coin you mine with a CPU.

TrueNorth is a fork of Bitcoin Core with its own proof of work, RandomNorth, built so ordinary processors can mine it. No presale, no premine, no founder allocation and no protocol dev fee. Mainnet has been running since October 12, 2026.

Get started

Full guide →

Any 64-bit CPU with AES-NI from the last ten years or so will do. Plan on about 3 GB of free RAM for the node and miner together.

Download and verify

Get the release for Linux, macOS or Windows from the official GitHub releases page. Check it against SHA256SUMS and its signature before you run anything.

Run a node and make a wallet

Start truenorthd, let it sync, then create and encrypt a wallet. Your address starts with north1z. Back the wallet up somewhere off that machine.

Mine solo or join a pool

Solo: run truenorth-miner against your own node and keep every block you find. Pool: smaller, steadier payouts. Compare the pools first.

Who is mining

Compare pools →

Share of the last day's blocks. The project's mining policy asks every pool to stay under 33% of the network.
